The competition proposed the renovation of Dresden’s Baroque Blockhaus, transforming it into a new institution housing the Archiv der Avantgarden, dedicated to 20th–21st century avant-garde art, design, and cultural artifacts. The concept preserves the historic envelope while radically reorganizing the interior: two compact archive volumes concentrate storage functions, creating open, light-filled public spaces between them for exhibition, research, and cultural exchange. The project establishes a flexible, transparent interior landscape connecting archive, exhibition, and public activities within the protected historic structure.
