This diploma thesis explores the potential of a cable-net structure composed of lightweight laminated timber elements to span large areas while providing weather protection.
A full-scale prototype was constructed using laser-cut, form-laminated veneers designed to accommodate the range of angles generated by the overall double-curved surface.
The thesis received an honorable mention at the 2012 Diploma Prize of the University of Stuttgart.
